Research Purchasing Requirements

Who may purchase

Purchasing is intended for organizations engaged in lawful laboratory research and for personnel authorized to purchase on the organization’s behalf. Materials are supplied on the basis that they will be used only for laboratory research — not administered to humans or animals, not used for diagnosis, treatment, prevention, compounding or dispensing, and not resold for any of those purposes.

How verification works

1. 1

   Create an account

   Orders for materials subject to purchaser verification are placed from a signed-in account so the purchaser and the ordering organization are identifiable.

2. 2

   Complete a research purchaser profile

   Provide the ordering organization, the authorized purchaser, the research or business address, and a general research category. The profile is submitted for review, not approved automatically.

3. 3

   Review

   We review the submitted profile and may request additional information about the organization or the research context before a decision is made. Decisions are sent to the business email on the profile.

4. 4

   Order

   Approved accounts can order materials that require purchaser verification. Some materials additionally enter compliance review after the order is placed and before it is processed.

Information we ask for

Legal organization name, organization type and website, the purchaser’s full name and role, a business or institutional email, the research or business address, and a general research category. We also record confirmation that the purchaser is authorized to buy on the organization’s behalf, together with the research-use attestation and the version of the terms accepted.

Materials subject to additional verification

Some materials in the catalog are marked: Research procurement for this material is subject to additional purchaser verification. For those materials, an approved research purchaser profile is required, and an order may be held for compliance review before it is processed. A small number of materials are available by procurement inquiry only and cannot be added to a cart.

Purchase may be limited to verified organizations and authorized research personnel. BioFunction Labs may request additional purchaser information and may decline or cancel orders where the stated or apparent intended use is inconsistent with laboratory research.

What you attest to at checkout

I certify that I am 21 years of age or older (or the legal age of majority in my jurisdiction), that I am purchasing these materials on behalf of a qualified organization for lawful laboratory research only, and that they are not intended for human or veterinary administration, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, compounding, dispensing, or personal use. I understand that these materials are not approved by the FDA and have not been evaluated by the FDA for human or veterinary use.

What we cannot provide

BioFunction Labs does not provide dosing, injection, administration, reconstitution-for-administration, clinical, medical or veterinary instructions, and cannot advise on the use of these materials in humans or animals. We may decline or cancel an order where the stated or apparent intended use is inconsistent with laboratory research.
